On the day of 24 December
The commemoration of all the sainted ancestors of Jesus Christ: sons of David, sons of Abraham, sons of Adam - namely, of the fathers who pleased God and were found righteous and died near to faith, taking possession of none of the promises but gazing upon them and greeting them from afar; these same from whom Jesus Christ, blessed God who is above all forever, was born according to the flesh.
